6月22日凌晨，广东铭途足球俱乐部发布声明，指出在6月21日广东铭途U16梯队对阵湘超张家界队的比赛中，张家界队相关人员对该队未成年球员实施恶意殴打，导致球员身体受伤、身心受损，严重扰乱赛场秩序。俱乐部明确表示已留存相关证据，将依法维护俱乐部和球员合法权益。

随后，张家界市足球协会也发布通报，确认公安机关已介入调查处置。

据媒体报道，受伤球员张皓烨年仅14岁，是国内2011年龄段的顶尖球员，今年4月刚以首发中场身份随U15国少击败意大利U15。据赛后医院诊断报告显示，张皓烨头部、鼻部、腹部、右手多处损伤，右手第五掌骨骨折，隐私部位遭踢踹。
