2019年12月23日下午，李勇区长在区委区政府办公楼207会议室，主持召开区政府一届八十三次常务会议。 会议审议并原则通过了区政府办公室《关于提请审议<政府工作报告（送审稿）>的请示》（以下简称《工作报告》）。会议指出，《工作报告》既是对2019年各项工作的系统回顾，也是2020年政府工作的全面部署。高质量完成《工作报告》的起草工作，对抢抓粤港澳大湾区和先行示范区“双区驱动”重大历史机遇，全面落实中央、省、市和区委决策部署，更好推进明年政府工作具有重要意义。 会议还审议了其他事项。
