2月1日上午，市六届人大七次会议主席团举行第二次会议。大会主席团常务主席、市委书记、市人大常委会党组书记蔡朝林主持会议。 大会主席团成员共52人，出席本次会议的有48人，符合法定人数。 市委向大会主席团推荐揭阳市第六届人大常委会部分组成人员候选人、揭阳市第六届人民代表大会法制委员会个别组成人员初步人选；会议决定将揭阳市第六届人大常委会部分组成人员候选人、揭阳市第六届人民代表大会法制委员会个别组成人员人选名单草案交各代表团酝酿。
