The National Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) reported the latest progress of a special campaign targeting mobile communication tools such as WeChat, having shut down over 20 million harmful accounts and removed over 400,000 pieces of illegal information since the beginning of the year. The CAC is also drafting related management measures to be announced in due course.

国家互联网信息办公室20日上午通报微信等移动通信工具专项治理行动最新进展。今年以来，网信办会同有关部门，指导相关网站，累计关闭涉招嫖等各类有害账号2000余万个。<br> 其中，违法违规公众账号3.3万个，删除违法违规信息40余万条，每日过滤欺诈、虚假广告信息1000余万条，有效遏制了利用移动即时通信工具破坏网络传播秩序、危害公共利益的行为。<br> 为配合此次专项行动，国家互联网信息办公室正在拟定相关管理措施，并将适时公布。(记者 刘育英)
