On April 16, a Taiwanese fishing vessel caught fire northeast of Huangwei Islet, and China Coast Guard vessels on patrol extinguished the fire and rescued 6 of the 7 crew members. The Coast Guard reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the safety of Chinese fishermen, including those from Taiwan, and maintaining order in the relevant waters.

4月16日，一艘中国台湾籍渔船在中国黄尾屿东北约76海里处失火，船上共有7名船员。事发后，正在执行巡航任务的中国海警舰艇赴事发海域对失事渔船进行灭火并展开搜救，截至目前6人获救，相关救援工作还在持续进行。

中国海警将持续依法保护包括台湾地区在内的中国渔船民生命财产安全，有力保障有关海域正常航行和作业秩序。
