U.S. BIS Amends Commerce Control List to Restrict Four Categories of Technologies

On August 15, 2022, the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced amendments to the Commerce Control List, adding four categories of items: ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor substrates (gallium oxide and diamond), ECAD software for developing GAAFET integrated circuits, and pressure gain combustion technology for gas turbine engines. The controls take effect on August 15, 2022, with a 60-day delay for ECAD software.
