China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Dai Bing, called on the Security Council to adjust sanctions on Sudan's Darfur region, arguing that current measures hinder the Sudanese government's ability to maintain stability and protect civilians.

新华社联合国9月13日电，中国常驻联合国副代表戴兵13日在安理会审议苏丹局势时发言，呼吁安理会调整对达尔富尔地区采取的制裁措施。 <br>
戴兵说，安理会对达尔富尔地区采取的制裁措施，严重限制了苏丹政府在当地维护稳定、保护平民的能力，应当根据形势变化予以调整，直至解除。中方对安理会未能根据决议要求在8月31日前就调整苏丹制裁制定基准表示遗憾，敦促执笔国切实履行责任，尽快恢复磋商，为争取协商一致作出最大努力。需要强调的是，有关基准应当明确、清晰、可行，不能超出达尔富尔问题和现有制裁措施，更不能成为拖延解除对苏丹制裁的政治工具。 <br>
