1月12日上午，按照国家的工作部署，中国（广东·中山）第31批援赤道几内亚医疗队从中山出发，启程前往非洲赤道几内亚，执行为期18个月的医疗援助任务。 这是首次由中山市单独组建承担国家援外医疗工作任务的队伍，队员来自市卫健局及全市9家公立医院，共25名队员。副市长徐小莉等为医疗队员送行。
