4日上午，市七届人大八次会议主席团举行第二次会议。大会主席团常务主席、市委书记、市人大常委会主任曾风保主持会议。 大会主席团成员共50人，出席本次会议的有48人，符合法定人数。 会上，市委向大会主席团推荐揭阳市第七届人大常委会部分组成人员候选人初步人选。会议决定将揭阳市第七届人大常委会部分组成人员候选人人选名单草案交各代表团酝酿。
